Funded by Harvest Foundation, the Fayette Street Banner Project provided for the purchase of 18 banner brackets to hang Uptown banners in the Fayette Street business corridor. This project created an opportunity to honor the social and economic contributions of the African American community in Martinsville and serves as a visual reminder of the importance of the Fayette Street corridor to the Uptown business district as a whole.
